The manor

This unique and spacious building was constructed back in 1868, originally as the village hall and cultural centre—a place rich in stories and heritage. Much of its original character has been carefully preserved, the interior is filled with antique furniture and objects, creating a warm, rustic atmosphere, complemented by numerous artistic works created by two generations of artists who live here.

The grand 12×12 metre hall and an 8×8 metre stage still echos the spirit of past community gatherings. The property offers free on-site parking and complimentary Wi-Fi on the premises. At the heart of the main hall stands a large dome structure, from which hammocks and swing chairs are suspended, inviting guests to relax, unwind, and experience the space in a truly distinctive way.

Accommodation

We offer a cozy accommodation with two double rooms, each featuring charming slanted ceilings and located on either side of the former stage. These rooms once served as changing rooms for performers and have since been thoughtfully transformed into comfortable, character-filled bedrooms. We also offer a camping option on our property. We have a private forest with a small river where our guests can make tents and connect with nature. Guests can also relax in the spacious living room that was once the main hall, enjoy time in the sauna while learning about our sauna traditions. You are also welcome to visit our exhibition space, play the antique piano, go for a bike rides or simply sink into the calm, unhurried rhythm of life in this peaceful countryside manor.

Food

We provide two meals per day for our residents. Breakfast is included in your stay, and the second meal will be either lunch or dinner, depending on our daily schedule. We enjoy preparing healthy, delicious food using fresh ingredients, and we are always happy to listen to your requests or dietary requirements.

We also have a vegetable and fruit garden where we grow a variety of produce that we love to use in our cooking. For those who would like to connect more deeply with nature, we offer the opportunity to join us on seasonal foraging adventures. In spring, we collect birch and maple sap, along with fresh herbs for teas. Summer brings berry picking and an abundance of wild herbs, while autumn is rich with mushrooms and forest berries. During winter, we venture into the forest in search of chaga, a highly valued medicinal mushroom often used as a tea or food supplement.

Surroundings

Just a short 5-minute drive or a scenic 40- minute walk away, the sea awaits with its sweeping sandy coastline, cliffs, and large shoreline stones that create a truly picturesque landscape. In summer, the water warms enough for refreshing swims, while the surrounding forests come alive with wildlife— you may spot deer, moose, foxes, and a wide variety of birds. Each summer, several pairs of storks return from Africa to nest in our garden and nearby areas, a special and much-loved sight.

Our home is encircled by deep forests where, in summer, you can gather wild blueberries and strawberries. Late summer and autumn bring mushroom season, inviting everyone to wander the woods in search of forest treasures. This region of Latvia is also known for its charming old villages and small towns, ideal for discovering local culture and history.

Each season here has its own distinct beauty. Summers are warm and pleasant, rich with life; autumn feels crisp and fresh, with forests glowing in spectacular shades of gold and red. Winters can be cold and snowy, transforming the landscape into a serene wonderland— perfect for skating on frozen lakes and rivers or skiing through forest trails. Spring arrives with an explosion of blooms, birdsong, and renewed energy. Overall, Latvia offers dramatic and beautiful seasonal changes, a rare natural rhythm found in only a few places in the world.
